VC Topgun Diesel Der Jaeger, MH
Diesel is a hard charging dog both in the field and the water. He was extremely easy to train and passed the Invitational with no training issues during his preparation. He received his Master Hunter in a weekend run. On wild birds, he is a close to medium ranging dog who is extremely cautious when he makes scent allowing the hunter a great chance to make a good shot on the elusive ring-necked pheasant. He loves ducks and has that old shorthair coat that is dense and a little longer than some of the short short coated dogs. He has great bone and is a dream at home. In the house during the off season he is a quiet, easy going boy. In the kennel, he never barks or exhibits any frantic or repetitive behavior such as circling or pacing. He is a 25" dog with good bone structure and a beautiful head. He is very much like his grandmother Crystal in looks and habits. Crystal (Indian Brooks Hustlen Crystal, MH, UTPZI) was undeniably one of the finest GSP's I've ever had the pleasure to know and hunt over. She was a daughter of the dog who left one of the strongest and most positive mark in the GSP's in this country today: DC Hillhaven's Hustler. Crystal was bred once to VC Jacob vd Westind, MH and produced in that litter, Diesel's mother "Emmy" and Honor's mother "Mazzy," both bitches who left their own mark on the breed in 5 litters between them with dogs who are some of the finest out there today.
