The Flicker and Karl breeding should result in a bird dog that is extremely cooperative, biddable (trainable) with high drive and desire. These puppies will excel in AKC and NAVHDA competitions both in the field and in the show ring. We are looking to produce dogs with the abilities and potential to become DC from this breeding. Though this is an outcross breeding, there are common dogs in this breeding.

Karl has a very high inbreeding coefficient in that his mother and father are half brother/sister out of the great bitch, DC Odyssey's Saint Blitz, MH. All four of his grandparents are Dual Champions. Karl is a laid back dog in the house and a hard charging field dog. His has superior natural ability, intelligence, and an outstanding temperament. He is the youngest male GSP to ear the coveted DC title..before 3 years old. He then went on to earn his Master Hunter in 6 out of 7 tests. His owners tell me that his best attribute, even above all of these, is his ability to find and handle wild game.

Flicker has always shown incredible natural ability in all aspects of the versatile hunting dog. She was a natural pointer, backer, retriever, and water dog. She has an incredible nose that has found game from great distances and brought back wounded game for her owner who is not the best shot in the world. In her UT duck search, she set out and brought me a duck within 3 minutes in some of the thickest cattails I have ever seen, and I've seen many tough duck search ponds as a NAVHDA judge. She then went out again and brought me another fat Mallard in about 3 more minutes. The judges told me to send her again...she went again and then they stopped the test as she had already shown them her strong desire. In tight quarters such as heavy woods or a dry river bed, Flicker is a great dog to have as she stays close and uses her nose to find the elusive grouse or quail. In the big fields I have she opens up and ranges around 100 yards. She holds a tight point and knows how hard to push a running bird so the game can be brought to the gun.

If you want the hunting dog of a lifetime; a dog to build your foundation lines on; or, a dog that will compete with the best out there....these are the dogs that will be all of these things. This is Flicker's first litter. After she earns more titles (Master Hunter and her AKC Championship) her puppies will be higher priced.
