This is our first breeding of Outlanders Crystal Image-Honor. These puppies should be highly trainable with high bird and water drive. Both Honor and Diesel are as home in the water as they are in the field. They both come from long lines of foot hunting NAVHDA tested and bred dogs. Diesel and Honor were very easy to train. Steadiness took a handful of sessions for both as well as the retrieve. Duck search was never trained for either as you just needed to show them there was a duck "out there" and they went...everytime. No training necessary. Diesel has an incredible nose with a natural back (honor) that is often over 50 yards away. He is a medium running dog that will adjust his range to the type of cover you are hunting in. When he makes scent he becomes very cautious and work the game carefully so the hunter has the best chance to shoot the bird. His trainer and handler at the Invitational had 2 dogs entered. One he trained diligently, Diesel would get a rare brush up and still passed with no issues to get the coveted Versatile Championship at the 2011 Invitational. Honor is a smart wild bird dog. She never saw the glory days of wild pheasants on public lands. She learned from wild roosters that tracking in the usual style was not going to get the bird. She devised her own way of literally pinning even older roosters (big old spurs!) between the hunter and her. It is an incredible sight to see and 9 out of 10 of our birds are shot over Honor every trip. She is the dog you pull out of the truck when the field is full of burrs, thick cover, stickers or huge territory to cover as she NEVER quits, no matter what. She will run her heart out and is the hardest working (seriously!!) dog I have ever, ever known. She is a joy to live with and one of the sweetest dogs I have ever known. There is just something about Honor that is pure and loving.
This is a line-breeding. Diesel and Honor's mothers are littermates: Emmy and Mazzy. Both Emmy and Mazzy were outstanding producers, each producing numerous Master Hunters, Utility Prize I dogs and Versatile Champions with only 5 litters between them. Because this is such a close line breeding the consistency between puppies in this litter should be remarkable. They should be calm and loving house dogs. They should be high drive, never quit dogs both in the fields and the water. They should be highly trainable, biddable and cooperative. They should all be the dog of a lifetime who will be a great pet year round, a highly competitive competition/trial dog, and the best hunting dog you will own.
Again, BOTH Sire and Dam of this litter have proven themselves to be the top of the top- NAVHDA dogs. Diesel earned his VC, Honor her UT PZI and Honor will run in the 2011 Invitational.
As I believe, and it is a fact, that the resulting puppy from a breeding gets 50/50 from each of her parents' gene pool.... we demand that both the sire and dam should be tested TOP performance animals to be in the breeding pool at Outlander.
Both Honor and Diesel come from long lines of NAVHDA Utility, German KS and AKC proven hunting and field dogs. We expect these puppies to excel in both the field and water.
